Importance of Alt Text.
What is alt text? Alt text is a description written for a particular image. Which in most cases when you hover your curser over the image it will then display the text. This is developed not only for search engines but also for people who are visually impaired.
How does this help improve my search engine ranking ?
Well as most web masters know, search engines cannot read images. IE, if text is written into an image, Google will not see it, it's locked in the image.
So to help the search engines understand how relevant your image is to the information you have on your page, you add "Alt text".
Remember when creating alt text for your images, make sure the text is "Relevant ". Keep is short but descriptive as possible using keywords you have selected to use for the page.
So how do we create Alt text in Complete Web?
Step 1.
Start Complete Web, and select Content. This will open the content module allowing you to edit your web pages.
Step 2.
Click on the page where your image is located that you want to edit. Here I have selected "Alt Text Example" your page will turn green when selected.
Next double click on your image, this will allow you to enter the edit mode.
Step 3 - Final.
If you haven't already entered alt text for your image, you will notice a blank text box at the top right of your edit zone titled Alt Text. Enter your image description here.
When done, select save and close, then synchronise.
Your Done!
